Website Privacy and Cookie Policy

Draft for Legal review. Last updated: [date]. Applies to www.epwealth.com, info.epwealth.com, and events.epwealth.com.

This Website Privacy and Cookie Policy explains what information EP Wealth Advisors, LLC (“EP Wealth,” “we,” or “us”) collects when you visit our websites, request our guides, register for events, or contact us, how we use and share it, how cookies and similar tools work on our sites, and the choices you have. It sits alongside our Client Information Privacy Policy, which describes how we protect the nonpublic personal information of clients and prospective clients under SEC Regulation S-P and the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act. Where the two overlap, the Client Information Privacy Policy governs information collected in connection with advisory services. Where more than one notice applies, the notice most specific to the information or activity governs.

1. Who we are

EP Wealth Advisors, LLC is a fee-only fiduciary registered investment adviser with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Registration does not imply a certain level of skill or training. We are subject to Regulation S-P and the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, which govern how we protect and share the nonpublic personal information of consumers and clients. That information is covered by our Client Information Privacy Policy and the privacy notice we provide to clients. This policy covers our websites and marketing.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us. When you request a guide, ask for a financial health assessment, register for a webinar, subscribe to our insights, or contact an advisor, you may provide your name, email address, telephone number, zip code, the range of your investable assets, and anything you choose to tell us in a message.

Information collected automatically. Our websites use cookies, pixels, tags, embedded scripts, session-replay tools, and similar technologies to collect technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, screen resolution, language settings, the site that referred you, the pages you view, the links you click, and the date and time of your visit. See “Cookies and similar technologies” below.

Information from advertising platforms. If you complete a lead form inside Meta, LinkedIn, or a similar platform, that platform sends us the information you entered. We may also receive reports from advertising partners about how our advertising performed, in aggregate or matched to you where you have interacted with an ad and then with our site.

3. How we use information

We use the information described above to deliver what you asked for, such as a guide, a webinar seat, or a call from an advisor; to respond to your questions; to route your request to the appropriate team; to send you educational content and information about our services, which you can unsubscribe from at any time; to understand how our websites and advertising are used and to improve them; to measure and optimize our advertising; to protect our sites and users; and to meet our legal and regulatory obligations.

4. Cookies and similar technologies

A cookie is a small text file placed on your device when you visit a website. A pixel or tag is a small piece of code, or an invisible image, that loads when you view a page and lets a website or its partner recognize that visit. We use the following categories.

Necessary. Required for the site to work, including security, load balancing, and remembering your privacy choices. These are always active.

Functional. Remember choices you make, such as a form you started or a location you selected.

Analytics. Help us understand how visitors use our sites so we can improve them. We use Google Analytics and session-analytics tools for this purpose. When you opt out of advertising sharing, these tools continue in a mode that does not set advertising cookies.

Advertising. Placed by our advertising partners, including Meta, Google, LinkedIn, and Microsoft, to measure whether our advertising led you to our site, to show you relevant advertising on other sites and platforms, and to reach people similar to those who have engaged with us.

You can manage advertising cookies through the Your Privacy Choices link at the bottom of every page, and you can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking necessary cookies may affect how the site works.

5. How we share information for advertising

We share limited information with advertising partners in two ways. First, through the cookies and pixels described above, which send information about your visit to those partners from your browser. Second, from our own systems, where we may send a partner a hashed version of the email address or telephone number you gave us, together with the fact that you requested a guide or a meeting, so the partner can measure our advertising and help us reach similar people. Partners may combine this information with information they hold about you.

We do not sell personal information for money. Some of the sharing described above may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information, or targeted advertising, under California law and similar laws in other states. You can opt out at any time as described in “Your Privacy Choices” below. We honor Global Privacy Control signals.

We also share information with service providers that help us run our websites, forms, customer relationship management, email, and events; with regulators, law enforcement, and other parties when required or permitted by law; and in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. Service providers may use the information only to provide services to us.

6. Your Privacy Choices

You can tell us not to share your information with advertising partners. This does not affect the service you receive from EP Wealth, and it does not stop us from collecting and using the information we need to operate our sites, respond to your requests, and provide advisory services.

Browser opt-out. Select Your Privacy Choices at the bottom of any page and turn off sharing with advertising partners. This stops advertising cookies and pixels on that browser and takes effect right away. It applies only to the browser and device you are using. Clearing cookies or using another browser or device resets the setting, so you may need to make this choice again.

Record opt-out. On the same page, you can enter the name and email address you used with us and we will also stop sending information about you to advertising partners from our systems. We use your name and email only to find and update your record. We apply this choice within 15 business days.

Global Privacy Control. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of sharing on that browser and device. You do not need to do anything else for that browser. To apply the opt-out to records we hold about you, use the record opt-out above.

We do not discriminate against you for exercising any privacy right.

7. Your privacy rights

Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Oregon, Texas, Virginia, and other states with consumer privacy laws have rights over their personal information. We extend these rights to all visitors regardless of where they live. Depending on your state, you may have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use and share it; to access a copy of it; to correct inaccurate information; to delete it, subject to exceptions; to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and of targeted advertising; to limit the use of sensitive personal information; and to appeal a decision we make about your request.

To opt out of advertising sharing, use Your Privacy Choices as described above. No verification is required. To make any other request, use our Privacy Rights Request form or contact us as described below. For access, correction, and deletion requests we will verify your identity, which may require your name, the email address you used with us, and your zip code. An authorized agent may make a request on your behalf with proof of authority. We will confirm receipt within 10 business days and respond within 45 days, extendable by a further 45 days where permitted, and we will tell you if we need more time. Opt-out requests are honored within 15 business days.

Information collected in connection with advisory services is subject to the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act and may be exempt from some of these rights. Our Client Information Privacy Policy explains how that information is handled.

In deciding how long to keep it we consider the purpose it was collected for, its nature and sensitivity, whether a legal, regulatory, or contractual retention requirement applies, whether it is needed to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims, and whether it is subject to a legal hold. Records relating to advisory services are retained in accordance with SEC recordkeeping requirements. [Legal to confirm whether a fixed period for marketing data should be stated.]

12. Security

We maintain physical, electronic, and administrative safeguards designed to protect personal information, including a written information security program that aligns with SEC Regulation S-P. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of information you send to us over the internet.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed. If we make a material change to how we use or share personal information, we will post the updated policy here and, where required, provide you with the ability to opt out of the new use.
